Community Life: Celebrating Christmas

Members of The Well Community look forward all year long to our Christmas worship service and party. We had a great time this year thanks to an incredible meal provided by Cliff Temple Baptist Church and St. Jude’s and prepared by Norma’s Cafe. Members of Kessler Park United Methodist Church decorated, brought desserts and provided take-home goodie bags. Volunteers from all three churches served up the delicious food and participated in the fun. For our worship service, Dr. Brent McDougal, Senior Pastor at Cliff Temple, gave the Christmas message.

Holiday festivities included music by a bluegrass band from Cliff Temple Baptist Church and a visit from Santa. He arrived and patiently answered questions about life in the North Pole and led the group in singing “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” As he passed out $50 Walmart cards and big bags of personal care items, he posed with each member for a Polaroid picture for them to take home. Many Well Community supporters donated the Walmart cards and personal care items that were packed in the gift bags. In addition to those presents, Dawn and Steve Camp, friends of The Well, provided ham for members to take home.

We are so grateful for all who made our Christmas Celebration a special night. In addition to those already mentioned, our thanks goes to the Cliff Temple Youth group, Kate Thacker and her daughter and a Well member who packed the gift bags ahead of time. Alissa Soto took the photos shown below. And, our Program Coordinator, Ericka Ruiz, was the glue that made sure everything came together seamlessly. A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
