For a number of years now, The Well Community has carried the tagline “a place to belong” because our focus has been on offering a gathering space for those who struggle with mental illnesses and are thirsty for acceptance, support and meaningful relationships. With COVID-19 we’ve not been able to gather in a place. But we have been able to maintain the higher goal of offering acceptance, support and meaningful relationships. These happen during our noontime meal pickups and as staff interacts with members throughout the week.
Our mission and vision have stayed the same. Our approach and methods have adjusted. We are grateful to be able to serve our members with the same care and commitment, while keeping them, our staff and our volunteers as healthy and safe as possible.
We sure look forward to gathering together again in the future!
Meanwhile, our 2019 Annual Report has given us a chance to look back. Hopefully you have seen it recently, either by mail or by reviewing it on our website. In it we share about the kinds of things we did last year when we were able to be physically together.
It also contains statistics on our membership and funding, as well as a list of sponsors, foundations, families, individuals, churches and businesses who undergirded us throughout last year. Many continue to support us now. We are so very grateful to these and others who help us continue to achieve the highest goals for each member.
We take our fiscal responsibility to them and to our members very seriously. We’re pleased to report that The Well Community has recently achieved the 2020 Gold Seal from GuideStar by making our goals, strategies and capabilities transparently available to you, 200-plus charitable websites and applications that use GuideStar data, such as AmazonSmile and Facebook.
