The fall season is in full swing, with Halloween just a week and a half away. This year’s Halloween festivities include a new event as we moved our Starry Night fundraiser to October 29 and built it around things that go bump in the night! Starry Night, Spooky Night will be more fun than scary, yummier than candy and much more important than tricks or treats.
The money raised at Starry Night, Spooky Night helps ensure the Well can continue to provide community, services and a welcoming, caring place to belong for so many in our area dealing with severe mental health conditions. Without the Well Community, our members face a scary world indeed. Stigma, poverty, isolation, health challenges, insecure housing and hunger are just some of the basic obstacles that block opportunities for mental health stability and meaningful lives.
As we wind down our year of celebration for two decades of compassionate care, we also look ahead to continuing to help our larger community care for these vulnerable and ostracized neighbors.
Please consider this my personal invitation to you to join us for Starry Night, Spooky Night and help us begin to build together a mentally healthy future for members of the Well Community.
Starry Night, Spooky Night will be on Saturday, October 29 from 7-11 p.m. at the Turner House (401 N Rosemont Ave, Dallas, TX 75208) and catered by Justo at Boxwood Hospitality. There will be a DJ spinning the Halloween oldies and some current tunes. The night includes your creative creepy costumes (not required) and a costume contest as well as lots of fun and games. Jubilee Bus will be available for photo booth pics.
