A Very Merry Evening

It was a very merry evening indeed! Thanks to the donations and help of many, our annual holiday party was a time of joy and celebration for our members, and we’re so grateful for all who’ve played a role in making this time so special.

We began with a time of worship with our member PT on the piano and member David Stairs leading the singing along with members of Cliff Temple Baptist, including Forbes Woods, Rev. Gannon Sims and Well Board President Jeff Lane, lending their voices to the carols. Rev. Sims then encouraged our members with a Christmas message.

A holiday feast from Norma’s Café was graciously provided by Cliff Temple, coordinated by Kay Frierson and arranged by our good friend from Norma’s, Pam Spell. Members enjoyed dessert and goody bags provided by Kessler Park United Methodist Church, coordinated by Vickie Fisk, with Well Board member Lisa Clayton lending a hand.

After more singing, Santa arrived! Through the generosity of many donors, each member received a backpack full of personal care items, a bag of food items and a $50 Walmart gift card to spend on themselves or others. Thank you to all who gave toward the purchase of gift cards and bought items from our Amazon wish list. And, thank you to Rick Lawson for bringing Santa to life and to Vickie Fisk for decorating the room.

Numerous other volunteers gave their time and energy to help our members celebrate, including Tiesha White and her family, mother and sons from Oak Cliff Young Men's Service League and numerous individuals from Cliff Temple and Kessler Park UMC. We’re so grateful to each one! Thank you all for giving our members a truly merry Christmas this year.
