A Well World: Oak Cliff and Beyond

It’s not so much that the Well Community chose to locate in the Oak Cliff area. Actually, Oak Cliff chose us. When Joel Pulis and others first envisioned a place where adults living with severe mental illnesses could worship, grow and belong, he was serving as the associate pastor of Cliff Temple Baptist Church, so the first outreaches grew from that location. However, over our more than 20 years, we have seen that Oak Cliff was the right place to start, especially when we consider the neighbors who live here and the kind of community support we receive.

From vendors who provide discounted or donated meals, to associations that invite me to talk to their members about mental illness, to businesses that sponsor events, to churches, schools, civic groups and individuals who supply a steady stream of volunteers and meals …the Oak Cliff area is generous to the Well Community.

I’m seeing it firsthand right now as underwriters and sponsors for Monster Mash, Halloween Bash are lining up to be a part of this fun and fruitful fall event on Saturday, October 26, from 7-11 p.m. at The SchoolHouse Dallas, 1601 Chalk Hill Road.

Take a look at which neighbors are supporting this Oak Cliff premier event (video below), and join us. Click here to buy tickets and for information on sponsorships and underwriting opportunities.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
